We’re as much bacteria as we are human.

And we owe those bacteria so much, but especially our health and our vitality. These bacteria live in communities called microbiomes. You’ve probably heard of the microbiome (or even that we have lots of microbiomes, beyond our guts) and probiotics. But what about prebiotics and postbiotics? And what’s a whole biotic?

This is where we come in: we nerd out diving into the research on what makes our microbiome so fantastic at supporting our body’s daily health and function, and then break it all down into bite-sized bits.

So you feel empowered, but not overwhelmed. That’s the sweet spot, right?

The Whole Biotic

The whole biotic recognizes that probiotics are alive! And includes the three key elements of their lives: prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics.

Prebiotics

Probiotics are micro-sized, living organisms. And just like us, they have to eat to live. Prebiotics are the food that nourish probiotic life and encourage their communities to grow. We include an organic prebiotic blend in Teem Defense because the probiotics in our formula are alive—these prebiotics keep them going while they’re in our bottles, hanging out until they reach your gut.

Probiotics

Those friendly little microorganisms who make up almost as much of your body as human cells, living in communities collectively called the human microbiome. Turns out, they help run the show in a major way—especially when it comes to your immune system. Beneficial microbes make up at least 70% of your immune system and via a network of two-way communication lines, called axes—like the gut-brain axis and the gut-lung axis—they’re in constant talks not only with your immune cells, but with the rest of your body’s major organs and systems as well.

Teem™ Probiotic Blend:Lactobacillus fermentum, Bacilus subtilis, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidbacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus lactis, Streptococcus thermophilus

Postbiotics

Probiotics have metabolisms too, only when they *poop* they create beneficial, bioactive byproducts like short-chain fatty acids, antioxidants, and other anti-inflammatory substances. Lucky us. What they produce depends on what they eat and what species they are. Because we bio-ferment our probiotics along with Organic Elderberry, Organic Pomegranate, and Organic Blueberry, they create, unlock and unleash postbiotics including antioxidants, flavanols, and other micronutrients in simple forms to make them easier for your body to absorb.

Nature's Balance

Balance in your microbiome is key (just like the rest of nature): you want more of the good and neutral microbes than the bad guys for your body to thrive.*

A well-balanced immune system is key as well: we want to support an immune system that’s neither over- or under-reactive, and that’s able to respond well to the bacteria and viruses that can make us sick.*

Gut + Immune Balance*

Our digestive system is where our internal body has the most interaction with things from our outside world, so it makes sense that 70% of our immune system is also located in our guts.
